Community Support

Show up where it matters.

Volunteers make IAF’s events, workshops and programs possible. Whatever you bring — hours, a skill or a hand on event day — there is a way to help.

Ways to Help

Bring what you have.

IAF is a growing organization, and volunteer roles grow with it. These are the areas where community members most often step in.

Events

Set-up, check-in, hospitality, photography and the hundred small things that make an event feel welcoming.

Workshops

Help facilitate hands-on sessions — cooking, budgeting, interview practice, Adulting 101.

Program Support

Behind-the-scenes work: preparing materials, organizing supplies, assembling resources for youth.

Community Initiatives

Drives, seasonal projects and partnerships that bring more of Clark County alongside foster youth.

Professional Skills

Design, accounting, legal, marketing, trades, HR, IT — skilled hours go a long way at a small nonprofit.

Outreach

Represent IAF at community events, connect us with partners and help more young people find us.

Two Different Roles

Volunteering and guiding are not the same thing.

Both matter. They ask for different commitments, and they have different processes.

General Volunteer

Supports IAF’s events, workshops, programs and community work. Often episodic — you can help at a single event or on an ongoing basis. Not matched one-to-one with a young person.

Volunteer With IAF

Compass Guide

A sustained, one-to-one relationship with a young person. Requires screening, background check, training and a thoughtful match, plus ongoing IAF support.

Learn about guiding

Role requirements are still being finalized. Screening and orientation expectations vary by role, and IAF will confirm the specifics for each volunteer opportunity when you reach out.
